Deacon Wilford Peterson was born on April 16, 1957 in Bonifay, Florida to the late Geraldine Watford Peterson and the late John C. Peterson.
Being raised in a Christian home, he accepted Christ at an early age. A couple of years ago he rededicated his life to Christ and was ordained a Deacon at Lifeline Kingdom of God Ministries, where he served faithfully in his office, even through his sickness up until his passing. He was a pillar to the community, loyal to everyone he knew and the ones he didn’t know. He was always joking, laughing and having a good time and was loved by everyone who knew him. Wilford attended Vernon High School.
Wilford had a passion for driving trucks. He drove for multiple companies but enjoyed driving for Coca Cola. He was a dedicated employee, receiving several awards and even retiring after 20 years of service.
On August 30, 1985 he married the love of his life, Sonya Broxton. Wilford was a hard worker a very good provider, committed to his home and family, very humble, and soft spoken, never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone he could in spite of how much or how little he had.
He departed this life on October 13, 2020at Southeast Health Hospital in Dothan, AL at 9:05 PM. He was preceded in death by his parents, and uncles.
He leaves to cherish the memories a loving & devoted wife of 35 years: Sonya Peterson, Dothan, AL; god-daughter: Shakayla Everette, Caryville, FL; mother & father-in-law: Mary & Willie Broxton, Caryville, FL; brother-in-law: Darryl Broxton, Tallahassee, FL; two loving sisters: Tina Erickson, Minneapolis, MN, and Lisa Peterson, Fredericksburg, VA; devoted brothers: Charles Peterson & Ozell Peterson, both of Minneapolis, MN, Gilford Peterson, Vernon, FL, and David Peterson, Dothan, AL; uncle: Tommy Peterson (Heidi), Minneapolis, MN; two fur babies: Bella & Brandy; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that truly loved him unconditionally.
