In humble submission to the will of God, we respectfully announce the earthly transition of Mr. Vernon Windell Gaskins, of Valdosta, Georgia, on August 30, 2023 in the comfort of his home. He was 66 years old and also a native of Chipley, Florida.
Vernon was blessed with the breath of life on August 4, 1957 to the parentage of Ernest Lee Gaskins and Shirley McDonald Gaskins in Whiteville, North Carolina. Being raised in a Christian home, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was of the Methodist Faith.
Vernon was educated in the Leon County Public School System and was a graduate of Godby High School in Tallahassee, Florida. He was a hard working self employed contractor always providing quality service to the customers that would utilize his services. Vernon had a skilled mind when dealing with business and sales/marketing. His enjoyed fishing, listening to music and socializing with friends, and was a master of karaoke.
Vernon was preceded in death by his parents and the mother of his children: Sheryl Peeples Gaskins. He leaves to cherish his memories his children: Angelica Warren, Brandon Mitchell, both of Tallahassee, Florida, Cameron Gaskins and Caleb Gaskins, both of Jersey City, New Jersey; two brothers: Lee Earl Gaskins of Chipley, Florida and Ernest Gaskins of Whiteville, North Carolina; two sisters: Jean Gaskins of Jersey City, New Jersey and Cheryl Gaskins of Roselle Park, New Jersey; two aunts: Linda Faye (Ron) Johnson of Chipley, Florida, and Auvella (Ralph) Gaskins-Monroe of Tallahassee, Florida; companion: Dorothy James of Chipley, Florida; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
