Royce (Lewis) Douglas

    In humble submission to the will of God we respectfully announce the earthly transition of Mrs. Royce Lewis Douglas, of Chipley, Florida, on April 28, 2022, in VITAS Healthcare of Panama City, Florida.  She was 71 years old and a life long native of Washington County, Florida.         

    Royce was blessed with the breath of life on November 5, 1950, to the parentage of Louie Lewis and Alma Broxton Lewis in Chipley, Florida. 

    Being raised in a Christian home, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and became a member of the Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church of Chipley, Florida.  She later joined the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Bonifay, Florida under the leadership of Rev. Clevelando Wedderburn.  Royce was a member of multiple departments and committees in the church and served diligently.

    She was employed with the FL Department of Corrections for numerous years before retirement.

    She leaves to cherish her memories two loving brothers: Thomas Larry (Marian) Lewis of Canton, Georgia, and John Daniel (Millesha) Long of Dothan, Alabama; along with a large host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many sorrowful friends.
