Rev. George Williams

    In humble submission to the will of God, we respectfully announce the earthly transition of Rev. George Williams, of Midland City, Alabama, on December 23, 2022, in the comfort of his home.  He was 67 years old and a native of Jackson County, Florida.

    Rev. Williams was blessed with the breath of life on October 15, 1955, to the parentage of Rev. Isaac & Mrs. Laila (Martin) Williams in Marianna, Florida.  Being raised in a Christian home, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and began to learn the way of Christ and would eventually accept the call into the ministry and take the sacred duty as a Pastor. Rev. Williams was the Senior Pastor of Bethel Star Missionary Baptist Church in Marianna, Florida where he served faithfully and led humbly until his transition.

    Rev. Williams was not only a man of faith and spiritual work but natural and physical work as well.  He was employed as a car salesman for numerous years, starting at Marianna Toyota and later transferring and retiring from Dothan Toyota. 

    He leaves to forever cherish his memories his wife & caregiver: Lady Brenda M. Williams; beloved children: Danielle Thornton ( and her daughter, Aniyah) of Sneads, Florida, Nikki (Jerome) Swinton of Chipley, Florida, Candace Potter of Chipley, Florida, Jerel (Carianne) Williams of Sneads, Florida, and Brian Marshall of Tallahassee, Florida; a large host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers: Joseph (Corene) Williams of Tallahassee, Florida and Harvey “ChinLee” Williams of Marianna, Florida; niece & nephew: Quita Williams of Denver, Colorado, and Reginal Williams of Tallahassee, Florida; god-sister: Delores Williams of Marianna, Florida; god-daughter: Jayda Smith of Marianna, Florida; along with the Bethel Star Church Family, other relatives and friends.
