Mother Petroya C. Hogan, of Ponce de Leon, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on September 18, 2020 in North Okaloosa Medical Center of Crestview, Florida. She was 79 years old and a native of Caryville, Florida.
Petroya was born on December 29, 1940 to the late Levi & Eunice Chambers in Caryville, Florida. She attended Washington County Public Schools in Caryville and Chipley, Florida. After traveling the world and retiring from Walgreens in Houston, Texas, she relocated back to Caryville in 2004. Petroya was an active member of the Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Caryville, where she served as a Deaconess and Church Mother. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Larry V. Hogan on March 11, 2007.
Affectionately known to many as “Pee” or “Miss Pee”, she will be deeply missed for her giving heart and wonderful spirit. Her favorite hobbies were gardening, cooking, baking pound cakes and loving her dog Poojoe.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband: Larry Hogan of Ponce de Leon, Florida; three sisters: Enoya (Robert) Farmer of Port St. Joe, Florida, Elouise (James) Phillips of Melbourne, Florida, and Cherry Savage of Pensacola, Florida; three step-daughters: Nekia (Kirk) Graham of Ft. Worth, Texas, Krishanna Hogan and Corinthina Baldwin, both of Killen, Texas; three sisters-in-law: Janet Chambers of Jacksonville, Florida, Brenda (Willie) Banfield of Townsend, Georgia, and Elizabeth Hogan of Atlanta, Georgia; brother-in-law: Desley (Mildred) Brown of Warner Robins, Georgia; aunt: Odessa Williams of Detroit, Michigan; and a host of loving and sorrowful nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and church family.
