In humble submission to the will of God, we respectfully announce the earthly transition of Mrs. Maria Dolores (Sierra) Rodriguez on September 23, 2021, in the comfort of her daughter’s home with her family by her side. She was 87 years old and a native of Puerto Rico.
Maria was born on February 5, 1934, to the parentage of Rafael Sierra & Dolores Vasquez in Cidra, Puerto Rico. She grew up Catholic but became a Christian by a Christian pamphlet. Because of such, she believed in passing them out wherever she would go.
She loved the Lord fervently and she made sure she shared it with everyone she met. As children, she’d gather us every night and read from the Progressive Pilgrim and made sure everyone one of us prayed. She was the embodiment of “train your child in the way they should go. As they get old, they would not part from it.” She covered her children with prayers and firmly believe we are here because of our Mother’s covered prayers. She had flaws, but her children never thought so. She was a walking angel in her families’ eyes/lives. She always said she was married to her children. She’d have our clothes ironed and breakfast made and dinner by the time we got home. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and so many others she adopted. She was loved by many.
Do you know Jesus as your personal Lord & Savior? Let me tell you about the testimony of our mami and then you will know. Que descanse en paz en los brazos del Señor. Nos veremos pronto Mami, del alma. Tus hijos y familia.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories two daughters: Ruth Smith of Chipley, Florida, and Angela Maria Rodriguez of Graceville, Florida; three sons: David (Diana) Rodriguez of Miami, Florida, Carlos Rodriguez of San Antonio, Texas, and Gerardo (Cordelia) Rodriguez of Ocala, Florida; 12 beloved grandchildren: Isaiah Rodriguez, Elijah Rodriguez, Selah Rodriguez, Jesse (Jackie) Smith III, Jessica Smith, Jasmine Smith, Joshua (Amber) Smith, Chasity (Gregory) Hamilton, Mia (Zachary) Harris, David (Makayla) Rodriguez, Justin Rodriguez, and Alex (Olivia) Thomas; 17 great-grandchildren: Mariah, Maddison, Ava Kaye, Ryder, Kimora, Lyric, Ayden, Zia, Gabriel, Carter, Fallyn, Jayden, Julian, Bella Marie, and Camila Grace; one sister & nine brothers; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
