In humble submission to the will of God, we respectfully announce the earthly transition of Mr. Henry Lee Spinks, Jr., of Jacob City, Florida, on August 6, 2023, in Tallahassee, Florida surrounded by his family. He was 69 years old and a native of Jackson County, Florida.
Henry was born on July 22, 1954, in Jackson County, Florida to the late Rosa Lee Stephens and stepfather, Grady Stephens. Being raised in a Christian home, he accepted Christ and joined the St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church of Jacob City, Florida. He was educated in the public school system of Jackson County, Florida. Throughout life he was employed with West Point Stevens, RexLumber Company, a Fertilizer Plant, Lehigh Furniture, and a Construction Company in Pensacola, Florida. He assisted in constructing a school on US231 and another in Panama City Beach, Florida.
Henry was a quiet, hardworking, and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was a handy man to anybody that needed him and was always willing to help others that needed him. A gentle giant that left a tremendous imprint on the lives of all he touched.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife: Gwendolyn Spinks.
He leaves to cherish his memories his beloved children: Justin Truette, Ebony Holland (Derris), both of Tallahassee, Florida, and Jolanda Truette of Phoenix, Arizona; four grandchildren & two great-grandchildren; beloved sisters: Katherina Beechum (Clint) of Dothan, Alabama, Amie L. Stephens (Leroy), Katherine Stephens (Herman), Eldory Stephens (Malcolm), Jewlene Thomas (Darrel), all of Jacob City, Florida, Lenora Stephens (Tony) of Chipley, Florida, and Caroline Dows Warren (Larry) of Detroit, Michigan; brother: James Stephens of Dothan, Alabama; aunt: Martha Lee Russell; uncle: Willie C. Baldwin; along with a large host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
