In humble submission to the will of God, we respectfully announce the earthly transition of Mr. Henry James Smith, of Ebro, Florida, on September 27, 2021, in the Bay Medical Center of Panama City, Florida. He was 85 years old and a lifelong native of Washington County, Florida.
Henry was blessed with the breath of life on September 23, 1936, in Washington County, Florida to the parentage of Mr. Buzz & Mrs. Sylvester (Solomon) Smith.
Being raised in a Christian home, Henry accepted Christ has his personal savior and later became a faithful member of the McQueen’s Temple First Born Church of the Living God, Inc. of Vernon, Florida. He was united in holy matrimony to Mary Esther Peterson and to this union one son was reared and raised in a loving and God-fearing home.
He leaves to cherish his memories his beloved wife: Missionary Mary E. Smith of Ebro, Florida; son: Jason (Sharonda) Smith of Birmingham, Alabama; two grandchildren: Jason (Pamela) Smith of Gulfport, Mississippi, and Ashely Smith of Birmingham, Alabama; five great-grandchildren: Kayleigh Smith, Bailey Smith, Serenity Smith, P.J. Smith, and Emmanuel Smith; two sisters: Vida Mae Campbell of Vernon, Florida and Ilene Butler of Panama City, Florida; five brothers: Bass Smith of Chipley, Florida, Willie James (Geraldine) Smith of Tallahassee, Florida, Clarence Brown, Willie (Betty) Brown, Jr., both of Vernon, Florida, and Leonard (Phyllis) Brown of Palm Bay, Florida; along with a host of brothers & sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
