Obituary

      In humble submission to the will of God, we respectfully announce the earthly transition of Mrs. Ever Lee Talley, of Lexington, KY, on June 21, 2023 in the comfort of her home.  She was 84 years old and a native of Holmes County, Florida.

      Ever Lee Talley was born August 12, 1938 to the parents of JB and  Annie Williams in Bonifay, Florida, who both preceded her in death. Ever Lee accepted Christ at an early age at MT Zion Baptist Church in Bonifay, Florida.  She was a member of New Grace Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan, under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr.  Julius C. Hope, in Detroit, Michigan.

      Ever Lee moved her family from Bonifay, Florida to Detroit, Michigan, where she met and married Howard Lee Talley, who preceded her in death on July 3, 2010.  She was employed at the Chrysler Corporation for many years, before retiring from Rite Aid.

      Ever Lee was generous, welcoming, and direct.  If there was any assistance to be given, she was there to help without any question.  In her spare time, Ever Lee enjoyed fishing, gardening and sewing.  Ever Lee was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother.  She took great pride in her children and grandchildren and she loved them dearly.  Ever Lee was the glue that kept the strong connection with all of her family members.

      Ever Lee graciously, opened her home for gatherings with family and friends.  From brunches, dinners, to cookouts, Ever Lee was the “hostess with the mostest”.  We will miss Ever Lee Talley dearly.

      She was preceded in death by parents, JB and Annie Williams; husband, Howard Lee Talley; sister, Elizabeth (Bell) Williams; brothers, James McDowell, Thomas D. Williams, Elijah Williams and Cleveland Williams; children, Lenora Talley and Christina Talley

      Ever Lee leaves to cherish and continue her legacy her children: Debra Jean Hogans (Norris) Lexington, KY,  Audwin Gus Talley, Detroit, MI, Roger Talley (Rhonda), Niagara Falls, NY and Willie Talley, San Bernardino, CA.  Her grandchildren: Alicia Hogans, Lexington, KY, Antoine Morris, Colorado Springs, CO, Rose Perkins, Arsha Talley both of Detroit, MI, Everlena Hogans (Tony), Lexington, KY, Audwin Talley Jr., Arwin Talley (AJ) both of Detroit, MI, Juliette, Damien and Kennedy Lexington, KY and Cortez Black Niagara Falls, NY.  Her great grandchildren: Zamina who hung out with her in “club Nana” and Kaliah.  Special nieces and nephews: Brenda White and Ida Mae King both of Bonifay, FL, Thomas Williams Jr. (Patricia) Warsaw, NC, Willie Williams (Dorothy), Fredrick Williams, Chris Kilpatrick (Tonia), all of Meridian, MS.  Special daughters: Keturah Smith and Yvonne Fisher. Her extended family: The Rhymes, Blount, Fisher, Boykins and Smith families of Detroit, Michigan. Lifelong friend Gloria Mellit, Braddock, PA.

      Through the grace of God, Ever Lee’s guidance will continue to live on through a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
