Estella Catherine Davis

December 22, 1938 ~ March 23, 2021 (age 82)

In humble submission to the will of God, we respectfully announce the earthly transition of Mrs. Estella Catherine Davis, on March 23, 2021 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family.  She was 82 years old.

Estella Catherine Davis was blessed with the breath of life on December 22, 1938 in Oma, MS.  She was born to the parentage of Estella Bryant-Harris and A.J. Wilks and was raised to be a beautiful, strong, and graceful woman.

Being raised in a Christian home, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and lived a Christian life; serving her family and community but most importantly serving & maintaining a relationship with God.

One of the happiest moments of her life was when she was united in Holy Matrimony to Joe Davis and to this blessed union, four beautiful children were reared.

Estella was a hard working woman, and instilled the same work ethic in her children and grandchildren.  She began her work career in Detroit, MI with General Motors in 1971.  She transitioned from GM, and became an educator teaching at the Paul Robinson Elementary School in Detroit, later renamed to St. Francis Montessori School.  After about 8 years of teaching, she would make the final career change and became a licensed cosmetologist.  She loved to make people feel special and would never charge for her services of being a cosmetologist.  She was licensed in both Detroit and Florida.

She leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband: Joe Davis; three children: Beverly Ann (Wayne)  Bowers, Joey Davis-Muhammad, and Sophia Bathsheba Davis (Jerry Jackson); 12 grandchildren: Andre Justin Bowers, Shalynn C. Bowers, Falah Muhammad, Zachariahs Muhammad, Sadjah Muhammad, Haadiyah Muhammad, Sakinah Muhammad, Amariyiah Muhammad & their mother, Lisa Cole Muhammad, Cortney D. Davis, Elizabeth C. Kiwalabye, Dedric Wilson and Brandon Davis; sister: Mary Louis Watts; brother: James Wilks;  along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

Estella was welcomed into eternity by her parents: Estella Bryant-Harris and A.J. Wilks; son: Christopher Davis; siblings: Willie Wilks, and Aredessia Hawthorne.
