In humble submission to the will of God, we respectfully announce the earthly transition of Mrs. Ernestine (Brown) Lee, of Vernon, Florida, on June 5, 2023 in the Doctors Memorial Hospital of Bonifay, Florida. She was 71 years old.
Ernestine (Brown) Lee was born on July 11, 1951, to the parentage of Hermon Brown and Hilda (Potter) Brown in Bonifay, Florida.
After graduating from Vernon High School, she attended Chipola Jr. College and the University of West Florida, where she graduated with a degree in social work. She was employed as a Correctional Officer at the Walton County Correctional Institute where she retired after working for over 25 years. She accepted Christ and was a member of the Church of Christ in Vernon, Florida.
Ernestine was a very loving and caring person. She would give you the shirt off her back and was always willing to give a helping hand. Although she had only one son, who was her most pride and joy, she stood in as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her sisters children. Her most enjoyable times were spent with her son going out for dinner and a movie.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a beloved son: Devin (Teshawnda, fiancé) Lee of Vernon, Florida; siblings: Bettye (Thomas) McKinnie, Shelby (Osie) Brown, both of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; along with a large host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Ernestine was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister: Pauline Green.
