August 11 will always be the date that many hearts were broken and shattered to many pieces. So many pieces that it’s impossible to put them back together as they once were. Like a broken picture, the crack that you left open is there.... But the family is still held together by the glue that you left behind.
We are remembering our beloved sister, Elaine, today, our first fruit of the family, our oldest sister, one of the very best, who always gave us her best because her foundation was laid in Christ. That’s why she was able to instill in us so very much, because Christ lived in her .
Elaine….Each time we think of you, your sweet spirit trickles down upon us, enabling us to keep moving forward. That’s what you did all of your earthly life. You just kept moving forward. Sometimes the places life took you were not so pleasant, but you being a woman who feared and follow Christ, you stood strong through the circumstances. Oh, how we love that about you!
Psalms 46:5, says “ God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved, God will help her when morning dawns”. You were the light that sits upon a hill that guided us through the fog of this world. Where do we find someone else like you? The answer? We cant. We can hear the echo of your voice telling us you just make the first step and he will do the rest. God used you to shape us into His will, so we will continue not to move backwards but forward
Thank you for the glue, that you spread so graciously among us, your siblings. Thank you for your strong, discerning spirit. You had so much wisdom. Wisdom which was not given on your own, but from above. The word of God was always your forefront and true light. A perfect and strong light that guided you to others. One of the overjoyed moments of your life was when you were late to adopt a beautiful baby girl by the name of Hillary Dawn Green. She came to our family as a baby, such a wonderful addition. Hillary is now a grown woman with a family of her own and she is now Mrs. Hillary Dawn Solomon. She remains in our family and we love on each other every Sunday morning and other times as often as we can.
You have a big heart of love for others. Your precious love, even flowed over into hair salons, but one salon in particular that you held close to your heart. Mr. Daniel Johnson (your hairdresser) is now an official and very special part of our family, and will remain because of you. Precious lady, God use you as an instrument to orchestrate many relationships within our immediate family as well as our church family
Remembering all the special times at mom and dad‘s home place. All the cookouts, all the holiday dinners and your special fruit salad that always made the meal complete. We still gather, but you are not there. Your seat on the porch/deck at our family home is empty, but your seat in heaven is occupied . As we get older, our love for each other grow stronger and stronger, and our faith has began to replace our fear of leaving this world.
One thing we know, for sure is that, among all the love that you had, and gave on this side, you now know the true and full love, that surpasses all knowledge. You chose to let your love for Christ that produced your joy, rise, high above your life circumstances. You were a tree of righteousness, for the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.
Elaine on August 11, 2022 you made that one final step to the Master and now he’s doing the rest……The rest…..The rest.
The phrase that gave you piece before ending your phone conversation was, “ good morning, good evening, and good night”. We remember all that mom and dad taught us and will always cherish all of our beautiful blessed memories with you. We love you always.
Your sisters and brothers
