Dixie Mae (Harper) Peterson-Oliver was blessed with the breath of life on May 30, 1926 to the parentage of Red & Lugene Harper in Millers Ferry, Florida.
Being raised in a Christian home, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was a member of the McQueen’s Temple First Born Church of Vernon, Florida. She served faithfully and was member of the Senior Choir, and the Church Mother. Dixie was also a member of the Caryville Lodge#123 Order of The Eastern Star Rebecca Chapter#54.
Dixie loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren and never met a stranger in life. She loved to do ceramic, sewing, and gardening flowers. She was also employed with the Washington County Dog Kennel of Ebro, Florida for numerous years in the custodial department.
Dixie answered the call of her Heavenly Father on February 2, 2022 in the Bay Medical Center of Panama City, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: James Oliver; children: Hosie Peterson, James Peterson, and Magalene Bowers; grandchildren: Patrick Peterson and Kenneth Bowers;
Although she is gone, she will forever be in the hearts of her beloved children: Aaron Peterson of Marianna, Florida, Calvin (Tina) Oliver of Dallas, Texas, and Lola P. (Louis) Brown of Vernon, Florida; granddaughter she raised as her own: Amber Oliver; beloved grandchildren: Erica Brown, Alzado Brown, Ron Peterson, Sylvia Nolands, Eric Bowers, and Cynthia Daniels; god-daughter: Sonjia Hill; special friends: Ida Hogans, Esther Jackson, Mary E. Smith, and Willie Frank Jackson; along with a large host of other relatives and friends.
