In humble submission to the will of God we respectfully announce the earthly transition of Deacon Mordecai W. Williams on March 9, 2022 in the comfort of his home in Chipley, Florida. He was 91 years old and a native of Washington County, Florida.
Deacon Williams was blessed with the breath of life on May 2, 1930 to the parentage of James & Iola (Matthews) Williams in Newville, Alabama. Being raised in a Christian home, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was a member of the Mt. Ararat First Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully on the Deacon Board.
Deacon Williams was united in Holy Matrimony to his high school sweetheart, Cassandra Bell Williams, on June 11, 1951 and together they built a loving family of nine beautiful children. They were blessed with 64 years of marriage. She preceded him in death on February 12, 2016.
Deacon Williams leaves to mourn his passing eight children: Marilyn (Donald) Jackson, Rev. Glenn (Gloria) Williams, Dr. Sandra Davis, Deacon Gerald (Ivory) Williams, Carl (Silvia) Williams, Pamela Williams, Rhonda (Jake) Boston, and Stephanie (Lyron) Walker; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a large host of other relatives and friends.
