In humble submission to the will of God, we respectfully announce the earthly transition of Bishop Willie Alfred Potter, Sr., on August 8, 2021 in the Gulf Coast Medical Center of Panama City, Florida. He was 75 years old and a native of Washington County, Florida.
Bishop Potter was blessed with the breath of life on July 26, 1946 to the parentage of Joseph & Bertha Mae (Brown) Potter in Vernon, Florida.
His life was forever changed when he met and married Gwendolyn Blondzell Real in 1971 and in 1975 they became united in Holy Matrimony. To this beautiful union they were blessed with five children that were to be raised in a loving and praying home. Gwendolyn preceded him in death on August 20, 2017.
Those left to cherish the memories and continue the legacy are two sons: Willie A. (Bobbie) Potter, Jr. of McDonough, GA, and Jonathan Potter of Panama City, FL; three daughters: Remather B. Potter-Williams of Decatur, GA, Candice Potter of San Pedro, CA, and Therica (Terrance) Campbell of Birmingham, AL; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; four sisters: Frances Potter Ross of Bainbridge, GA, Brenda (Curtis) Blue of Panama City, FL, Nina Campbell of DeFuniak Springs, FL, and Kimberly Potter of Panama City, FL; two brothers: Wayne Ellis (Magadlene) Potter, Sr. of Vernon, FL, and Joseph Potter, Jr. of DeFuniak Springs, FL; a special friend: Ms. Doris Alice Robinson of Chipley, FL; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and an abundant host of friends and loved ones.
