In humble submission to the will of God, we respectfully announce the earthly transition of Mr. Aaron Jerry Morris, of Chipley, Florida, on June 1, 2023 in the Northwest Florida Community Hospital of Chipley, Florida. He was 68 years old and a lifelong native of Washington County, Florida.
Jerry, as he was affectionately known, was born on September 25, 1954 to the late James & Teretha Morris in Washington County, Florida. He was raised in a Christian home and accepted Christ as his personal Lord & Savior at an early age. He was a member of Mt. Ararat First Missionary Baptist Church of Chipley, Florida under the leadership of Rev. R.V. Jefferson.
Jerry was educated in the school system of Washington County, Florida, and was a Chipley High School graduate. After schooling, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1971 and served for two years as an Aircraft Mechanic. After his honorable discharge and return home, he began to work with his brother Phillip Morris Concrete and Construction in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida.
Jerry was preceded in death by a son: Andrae Morris; his parents: James & Teretha B. Morris; two sisters and four brothers.
He leaves to cherish his memories one sister: Angeline (Rev. Thomas) Smith of Chipley, Florida; three daughters: Monique (Sean) Williams of South Carolina, Lisa Bennett and Rachel Robinson, both of Atlanta, Georgia; two sons: Darrell Bennett of Atlanta, Georgia, and Aaron Fain of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandson; a special ex-wife: Daisy Bennett Morris of Laverne, Alabama; two special friends: Velma Marie Hare and Debbie Blassingame, both of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; along with a large host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
