Cynthia Annette “Netta” Dixon received the precious gift of life on December 8, 1963 in Chipley, Florida to the late Alma Ruth Gaskins-Dixon and Ernest Dixon. She was the fourth of four children. “the baby”.
Cynthia welcomed Christ into her life at an early age and became a member of Grant Tabernacle A.M.E. Church of Chipley, Florida under the leadership and guidance of the late Rev. S.M. Chapman.
She received her formal and secondary education in the Washington County Public School System and graduated from Chipley High School in 1981. After graduation, she attended Chipola Junior College. Cynthia was employed as a CNA and enjoyed helping people.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Chero Olds. Jr. (CJ).
On Friday, January 11, 2019, God dispatched his angels to her home in Chipley, Florida, and Cynthia transitioned to her eternal Heavenly home. No more pain, no more struggles; she is at peace in the presence of God. She was preceded in death by her mother; husband; grandparents: Ernest and Ellon Gaskins; brother: SFC (Ret.) Eugene Gaskins.
Precious memories of Cynthia will forever be cherished by her family, her daughter: Krista Freeman and two grandsons, James and Tarell of Whiteville, North Carolina; father: Ernest Dixon (Elease) of Campbellton, Florida; mother-in-law: Eva Olds of Campbellton, Florida; four sisters: Wanda F. Dixon of Tallahassee, Florida, Lisa Dixon-Hayes of Clarkton, North Carolina, Donna Dixon, and Danette Dixon; two brothers: Ernest Dixon, Jr., and Dewayne Dixon (Tina), all of Noma, Florida; four sisters-in-law: Sandra Beaver-Gaskins of Fayetteville, North Carloina, Loretta Olds of Jacksonville, Florida, Kasandra Olds of Campbellton, Florida, and Cherita Olds (deceased); five brothers-in-law: James Leonard Olds (deceased), Bruce Olds, Ricky Olds, Alan Olds, all of Campbellton, Florida, and Ronnie Olds of Jacksonville, Florida; aunts: Auvella Gaskins-Monroe (Ralph) of Tallahassee, Florida, Linda Faye Johnson (Ray) of Whiteville, North Carolina and Chipley, Florida, and Beatrice Holmes of Tallahassee, Florida; uncle: Joseph Gaskins (Betty) of Chadbourn, North Carolina; six nephews: Kevin Alexander of Tallahassee, Florida, Justin Gaskins of El Paso, Texas, Joseph Cooper, Allen Cooper, Jasmine Dixon, and Lucas Dixon all of Noma, Florida; four nieces: Kayla Scarborough of Clarkton, North Carolina, Nicole Gaskins-Morris of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Natasha Gaskins-Williams (Jarod) of Ft. Belvoir, Virgina, and Auvella Gaskins-Jacobs (Darren) of Fayetteville, North Carolina; a special cousin/brother: Angelo R. Davis (Tamara) of Chipley, Florida; special cousin/sister: Tanya Johnson; a special friend “paw-paw”: Howard Horne, Jr. of Chipley, Florida; along with a host of great nieces & nephews. cousins. other relatives & friends.
